PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Morgan Stanley, New York, NY
Vice President / Product CFO, Banking Services & Deposits/Investment Portfolio
- Lead a high-performing team in New York with additional managerial responsibilities in the form of dotted-line management of a centralized reporting team in Hungary
- Own all aspects of the forecasting and modeling for the Banking Services and Deposits / Investment Portfolio businesses, which together account for almost $3bn in annual revenues across a variety of products; namely banking deposits deployed into Wealth Management lending products, a fixed-income securities portfolio and a co-branded credit card portfolio
- Partner with Private Banking Group (PBG) and Chief Investment Office (CIO) business heads to develop new product proposals and subsequently obtain approvals from key stakeholders throughout Morgan Stanley; successful product launches include a high-yield savings deposit, vanilla CD offering via the Wealth Management channel and the cash multi-sweep redesign between banking deposits and money-market funds
- Orchestrate regulatory stress tests with PBG Product CFOs, Bank Treasury and CIO to optimize PBG's balance sheet (approximately $150bn) as part of the Morgan Stanley's CCAR submission to the FRB and the Morgan Stanley Banks' DFAST submissions to the OCC
- Evaluate and propose alternative transfer pricing methodologies for PBG's deposit products by examining attrition rates and variations in client behavior stemming from the size of deposit balances — performed in conjunction with the Treasury and Liquidity teams to maximize the deployment value of the PBG deposit base and therefore PBG's return on equity
- Monitor and communicate liquidity and capital requirements for each of the Morgan Stanley Banks with a keen focus on the liquidity coverage ratio and outflow assumptions associated with Morgan Stanley's contingent funding plan
- Provide Banking Services and CIO leadership teams with highly complex financial and technical analysis to support proposed changes to the client interest rate paid to Wealth Management depositors
- Create innovative analyses to allow the CIO team to easily assess the positioning of the securities portfolio (balances, yield, duration) while simultaneously monitoring interest rate risk from both an accrual perspective and instantaneous market shocks
- Collaborate extensively with legal entity reporting, product controllers and financial data teams to ensure consistency across all types of reporting (regulatory filings and management/decision support)
